[OBD U5] Custom detailing symbol style - section callout with no leader

Just wondering if there's any possibility to disable the leader line in section callout settings? Terminators and wings can be set to none and yet a leader line still required? If it's not possible, can a CR be raised please.

  • Can you explain the scenario where you want to disable the leader line in a section callout?

  • What I have: 1 3D model, 1 layout 2D model, 1 Sheet model.

3D model is referenced into layout model at 1:1. Plan, section, detail callouts are created and placed within layout model, at 1:1. No annotation exist in layout model.

layout model is then refereneced into sheet model at scale. Annotation is applied in sheet model only.

    Best regards,

    Tuan Le

  • Actually you don't have to apply in the sheet model you can apply the section in the Model itself and have it generate, a model within the same file or a separate dgn with the referenced section.  That being said the current path results in the same thing, just automatically.

    That being said.

I assume the section line is showing up in a view that it should not - for example - showing a section marker for a plan when you are viewing a section.  or visa-versa.

You have to cut off the level or you might have those cut off before you create your section - maybe even an update

This is why we create several models for plans and sections

One is the master model with all model inside

Then a Model for plans, sections, etc.
Within this one I reference the Master Model and then set up for only plans, elevations, Sections, etc.
It was important for me that the sections and plans be separate.

Thus when I create these somehting like you are asking is not visible intentially

  • The callouts are applied in the layout model Eric (which in real world scenarios might has some 20 odd component 3D models referenced in). That's why there's no annotation in our layout model. I don't think the callout symbol itself is displayed through the DV. However after everything is done, we have a bunch of leader lines within our layout model which is making it hard to work with. The callout symbol can be turned off or deleted after the fact. I'm just wondering if I can do DV without any callout symbol to begin with.

  • Yes you can.  The way I do that is NOT let the system create the 2d file just the DV.  I then create teh 2d file and attache the DV - NO markers come along with them unless I want them too
