Folks,
I was give a Midas model to make a start with 3D by AECOsim.
Please can I have an advice on best way/compatible format to start with the same? Thanks.
Balaji
Please can you clarify which Midas application? I'm not familiar with the name, a quick search shows there appear to be at least two cad applications that have Midas in their name.
Marc
Hi Thomas
Its a design software which is being used for design and analysis.
The file format of this would be '.mcb'.

It looks as though you might have to export those results to a common format supported by both applications. Can you check which options are available in the specific MIDAS software you are using?
For example, according to this page Midas FX supports export to STEP and IGES: https://en.midasuser.com/product/feature.asp?selectProduct2=519&strSearchKey=Geometric+Modeling&topmenu=%7CUser%2Dfriendly+Framework%7CGeometric+Modeling%7CMesh+Generation

Steve,
Many thanks for sending this information and which is useful.
Yes, I have had check with my Engineer and I can see an option IFC export from the software which would probably help me as scratch.
Thanks
Hi Balaji,
You're welcome. If IFC is available then yes, that probably is the best option.
