Hi.
I work in Microstation v8i ss4 and must add revit files as reference to my projects. I installed that plug-in in Revit
I got a question for you. When project is updated and resaved in Revit, do I have to re-publish every time overwriting the i.dgn ?
Isn't there a way to keep the link between the published file and the same referenced file in Microstation constantly as the file is updated and resaved in Revit ?
I did a test and I have to re-publish every time in order to see that brown pencil in reference view.
Thanks
Yes you have to republish every time.

So why is this method any different than the Save As .dgn method ?
The idea is to see the modifications of referenced Revit file at any point in time, as the project progresses
I think there is a little confusion here between a standalone imodel and the features present when using the imodel hub.
1. Saves as dgn will only give you the geometry from the Revit file you will lose all attribution.
2. The imodel plugin for Revit deliberately creates a read-only "i.dgn " file containing the geometry AND the attribution. this can be referenced into a design session for coordination, clash detection etc.
3. when you write "..referenced Revit file at any point in time, as the project progresses" this sound similar to but not quite the same as the capabilities provided by the imodel hub and the imodel bridge for Revit. Im not sure what the status is for the imodel bridge for Revit. but you can read more about the imodel hub here https://www.bentley.com/en/about-us/news/2017/october/11/bentley-imodelhub
