I am trying to add annotations to my door numbers in my dynamic view by using the add element annotation tool, when I select a door after selecting the tool I get "ERROR !!! Unable to find the active cell.
In my annotation tool settings the cell is selected, where am I going worng?
Hi Ben,
if you need all the doors annotating, have you tried applying an architectural drawing rule and updating the view definition?

Hi Brendan
I have had no joy with any of the rules either, structural or Architectural. I use to use the rules a lot when using extractions and followed a similar process to set up the rules in dynamic views but I can not get anything to appear. I have raised a service ticket regarding the matter but have not heard back, any tips on where I may be going wrong would be appreciated.
Regards
Ben
I know you already have an SR in the works, but be sure to check that BB_ANNOTATION_CELLLIB is pointing the expected cell library.
Hi Steve
yes the BB_ANNOTATION_CELLLIB is pointing to our data set
The SR above refers to the "Mark" and "Section Name" properties via Structural Drawing rules. Is it simply a case where every rule is behaving the same, regardless of discipline?
Just to provide you with an update, we have just installed update 5 for connect, now the structural annotation rules all work fine, but I am still having the same issues with Architectural rules add element annotation tool
So the Structural drawing rules now work after installing Update 5, but the Architectural rules still do not? If so, it is an odd one... What it should come down to is:
1. The existence of the cell library
2. The BB_ANNOTATION_CELLLIB variable pointing to that library
3. The Annotate Settings defining a default cell per component type based on 1 & 2
4. The Architectural drawing rule either using that default cell or specifically defining another
