Hi,
Some of my models are running extremely slowly and after a while they crash and I have to abort. This isn't stopping work but its slowing it down significantly. I have one MC referenced in which has approximately 45 models of both 2D and 3D, I am working in 2D but within a 3D seed. Isolating the areas I work with seems to help speed things up slightly but not much. My OS is Windows 10 and I have 32GB RAM. The issue is the same whether I am connected through WiFi or direct.
thanks for any and all help you can give.
Mark
Hi Mark,
Are you using PW to open the files? If yes, can you please specify which version of PW you are using?
Regarding the crash, is it generating any error code, log file, JIT Debug file? If yes, please share the same along with a screenshot of the crash notification.
Warm Regards,

Hi Subhamoy,
I am opening them through projectwise, this is the version I have:
well that seems a bit small, its version 10.00.03.167
AECOsim error log.txt
Here is the error log. This is all I can provide for now.
It may be worth noting that before I updated to this PW version, the issue was present.
There's not a lot to work with in the exception log since there was no corresponding minidump file generated and the call stack includes no specific DLL files. However, that does make me wonder whether memory allocation is a factor. Since AECOsim Ss6 is a 32bit app it does have the inherent 2GB-3GB max memory limitation. We would typically test this by opening Task Manager when performing the operation in question and watching memory usage until it fails. If it is in that +2GB range it may simply be running out of memory.
Do you have the ability to test (or use) OpenBuildings Designer CONNECT Edition?
We purge our working file every once and a while and this helps.
ie. create a new file and re-reference files needed etc.
We also split up the working files to do separate tasks to keep DV cuts down and overall nesting of other files.
OpenbBuilding is also faster when dealing with laggy files so try that.
