AecoSIM Building Designer v8i (Select Series 4) - Problem with Dataset Explorer
I'm using extractions to get sections out of quite a complicated model.
How can I place pattern on its own level ? I'd like to have the ability to switch off patterning in some instances without switching off the linework.
And also a major problem : I want some parts shaded in section.
I can get this to work, but the shading is offset from the linework by about 2mm which is obviously useless to me.
Is this a bug ? Or a setting ?
Hi Fraser,
Hatch/Patterns have never had their own level control, instead taking their assignments from the Cut & Forward/Reflected levels. Of course, as you've found turning those levels off also turns off the boundary geometry. You could skip part based patterning for specific elements and manually pattern them within the extraction model, or modify the levels of each Hatch sub-cell's boundary element directly in the extraction model using the Building Element Info tool which would leave the "real" boundary geometry intact - changing the level or setting the class to Construction.
Thanks Steve.
But what about the offset of the shading ?
That is really weird.
I can send a screen shot if you like.
Do you know if it is a bug ?
Fraser
Yes, if you can attach a screen capture of that offset shading it would help. Also, how are you applying that shading?
