Weird thing started to happen in one of my Client builds. Went to place handrail and I get an error:
Error: Unable to create Railing. Please load section file.
Section and rail files are the same in several builds and the others are working.
Section files are all configured and loading fine, just won't place handrail.
Anyone come across this before?
Hi Bear,
Have you tried to remap the US.xml file using STRUCTURAL_SHAPES configuration variable ?
I'm actually using the onesteel file for AUS sections. It's in the STRUCTURAL_SHAPES config and appears fine in the modelling tools.
So... As far as you know, the sections required by that specific Railing are actively loaded at the time of placement? If so, yeah, that would be odd. Does it matter which Railing you select for placement?
I don't have any of the delivered ones in the build, but we have 6 different styles. They are the same in each build, including the member file. The other builds still work, just for some reason this one has started to throw up this alert and won't place handrail. I've even tried replacing the files with the ones from other builds in case there was some corruption, but no luck. Really weird and very frustrating.
Just to confirm - when you say "builds" are you referring to different machines with the same version of AECOsim installed?
Yes Steve, even the same rail cells, rail libraries and member libraries. Even the configs are pretty much the same, very little difference.
OK, thanks for confirming. Perhaps as a first step you could try renaming the existing \prefs folder on the machine where it's not working.
