I seem to be having an issue of my grid system not appearing in my Drawing Models. I am referencing in a saved view of a plan made in another MOC model where all is visible but it isn't there?
Would there be a simple explanation why
MOC file clip (with grids)
Drawing file clip (no grids)
Presentation Building settings

We have created various saved views within the Design Model. The grids are visible both in the model and visible in the saved views created within. (yes when I said active view I meant I had applied the view). So grids are visible everywhere within this file, it just when I reference these saved views into another file, the grids don't appear.

Great, thanks for confirming. Is there any chance could upload a mostly stripped-down version of a design + drawing model combo (where the grid displays in the drawing model) here for review? It should be as simple as attaching that drawing model as a reference to a different file, correct?
Hi Steve, I think the issue has been the plan seeds out of the box view extend is huge and something we have struggled to work with. As a workaround, we have been using sections to create plans (not ideal but this has been working so far). I assume as we have used a section seed this is why we have not been able to see grids? If so is there an easy way to change the section into a plan cut without having the rework the section? Also another note on grids is we are all working from the same dataset and BB_Floormaster file, some people on the team have grids in the air (as if they have been placed in M) and some people have them around and on the active design. Are you aware of these problems with the BB_Floormaster / working units? We are working on Update 5.

Which dataset are you using? The Plan drawing seed is designed to align with the other delivered 3D and drawing seeds so shouldn't provide any unusual results as-is. Question - what are the Working Units of your DGN file as well as the Solids Working Area size? I wonder if that is affecting the results...
In regards to converting a Section into a Plan, I'm not aware of any straightforward way to change one into the other. The Drawing Model is created using all of the settings from the selected seed, so I'd imagine you'd have to change each one to match a different seed, and even then I can't guarantee that would give you what you want. Although, if the Section callout is in a typical Plan orientation you should still the grid - if not, try toggling the Display Grid option off from the Drawing Model > Reference Presentation dialog (click OK) and then re-enable it and click OK again.
From your description of the grid location, I'll go back to my first question above - is everyone using the same working units and Solids Working Area? When modeling, had they first activated a floor to insure they're at the correct elevation?
