Aecosim quantify report

Hi ,

anyone can give me some tip on how to solve problem when generating a quantify report? My issue is that some element that I have create are not recognise/not found for some reasons.

Any chance someone can help?

  • Hello Massimo,

It would have been better if you could specify the version of the software you are currently using, still for your information:

The tool to use is "Quantify" and it is under the Data task menu in AECOsim Building Designer. In order to have a successful Quantification report each element in the model needs a family and part assigned to them, otherwise the process will generate with errors.

In AECOsim Help menu you can find a detail description of the tool and the steps to follow in order to generate a report successfully.

You may also have a look at this wiki for further reference.

    Thanks & Regards!

  • As Orgho pointed out it is always best to mention the version you are using just to be sure.   In addition, it's important to point out that there are multiple ways to report in AECOsim/OpenBuildings:

    - Schedules: This relies solely on DataGroup properties and their respective values, grouped by component type such as doors, walls, ducts, etc.

    - Quantify: This relies solely on the Family + Part system, but in order to work the Parts used must include Report Components (one of the Parts View drop-down options in the Family/Part Editor).

    - Structural Quantity Spreadsheet: This is designed primarily for Structural components and includes discipline specific properties such as unit weight, length, density, etc.
