3D Annotation and Export to IFC

Hi all,

I need to mark out chainage along an alignment line. The final result should looks like picture.
After all chainage annotation is done, i need to export the line and annotation to IFC and view them in Revit.
However all lines and annotation disappear after exporting the file to revit.

MY current annotation shown in picture is simply a text with rotation. I doubt if my method is correct.

Anyone know how to create proper 3D annotation and lne that can be exported to IFC then revit?

  • IFC export from OpenBuildings Designer will export geometry, its fundamental geometric properties and it's attached DataGroup properties.

Text annotation will not be exported.

DWG may be a better route to get these elements into Revit, depending on what you need to exchange with the Revit users.

buildingSMART are working on expanding IFC to add definitions for linear infrastructure specific elements such as alignments which we will adopt once they are available.

    Regards
