AECOsim Building Designer SS6. Version - 08.11.09.866
Hi all,
Using the BBES data "Place Raceway Hangers" tool, I have placed 24 hangers in my registered electrical design file. I created a brand new part which I named "Cable Hangers" under the "Electrical" catalog type and "apply part" to ALL the hangers but unfortunately, I can find it in the datagroup explorer as I need to create a schedule for them.
Please, does anyone have a clue of where raceway hangers data is stored within AECOsim?
Thank you
Hi Henry,
Just to be sure... DataGroup Explorer does not display Parts, as in Family + Part. That aside, for Electrical purposes please try the Output Manager tool instead, referenced in this older thread: https://communities.bentley.com/products/building/building_analysis___design/f/aecosim-speedikon-forum/47716/bentley-building-electrical-v8-xm/107656#107656

Hi Steve,
Sorry I actually meant the Electrical "catalogue type" with the Hangers as a "catalog item" and also I am currently using AECOsim SS6 but not BBES. Meanwhile, lets leave the output manager manager aside for now, is there a place within AECOsim I can globally select and edit parameters for ALL raceway hangers in one sweep just like one can do with the DataGroup Explorer?
For example, what if I wish to convert ALL raceway hangers type in my design file from Threaded Road M10 to Threaded Road M10 in one go
Ah... I see. Since Hangers use the generic "BBESDATA" catalog type they don't allow unique control via the DataGroup Explorer dialog. However, you should be able to multi-select the Hangers you want to change and use the Modify Raceway Hangers tool instead:
Thanks Steve, sure it does work using this method BUT my end goal is to report or create a schedule of them. As you have suggested above, the OUTPUT MANAGER is the way forward regards that intention.
You're welcome! And yes, for Electrical components the Output Manager is the reporting tool to use.
