I have used the below command line switch to open up OBD in Microstation mode but I still get all of the Datasets loading up. Am I missing something?
"C:\Program Files\Bentley\OpenBuildings CONNECT Edition\OpenBuildingsDesigner\OpenBuildingsDesigner.exe" -wsBB_DISCIPLINE=Microstation
Try adding the -wu option at the end to open a specific workset
I use this with a "Default" Workset, and it opens a lot quicker.
Hi Simon,
To open files in OBD MicroStation mode by default from windows explorer, what I can suggest is to go to C:\Program Files\Bentley\OpenBuildings CONNECT Edition\OpenBuildingsDesigner\Config and open msdir.cfg in notepad/notepad++, type in BB_DISCIPLINE = MicroStation ,save in as administrator, click Yes and open OBD in Microstation mode. You may also have a look at this wiki for your reference. Thanks & Regards
Try "-wsBB_DISCIPLINE=MicroStation" instead of "-wsBB_DISCIPLINE=Microstation". Discipline name seems to be case sensitive.
MicroStation Mode is designed to provide the MicroStation UI to users in a project who do not need the building tools for their tasks, while maintaining full compatibility with an OpenBuildings project's resources, i.e. levels, cells, etc. This is why the datasets are loaded. It is just the OpenBuildings UI and associated modules that are not loaded.
