Hi,
Using OpenBuildings Connect Edition, version 10.05.00.49:
The quantify tool isn't working as expected and as it used to do in the previous AECOsim versions. We used to build 3D smart solids and add family and part information to this, and then have the volumes reported through the quantify tool. However now, the tool only seems to work with objects created with the Building Design tools (from the datagroup system).
Is anyone seeing this behavior?
Hi Pedro,
If you have a solid and have attached Catalog Data to it using the Attach Instance Data tool, you should be able to see the corresponding Volume in the 'Schedules'.
Alternatively you can also use the Report tool as explained in this Wiki:
Thank you.
So it's fair to say that the quantify tool isn't working the way it used to? No chance of it quantifying solids with parts, only datagroup objects?
FWIW, it looks like DataGroup data is not required, but the elements themselves must be Forms (vs. solids) in order to be recognized by the Quantification tool. In most cases you should be able to use the Cut Solids by Curve tool (from the Building Design > Modify tab) to generate the equivalents of chamfers, fillets, openings, etc., while still retaining the underlying Form element type.
