I am using version 5 10.06.03.04
I Went to model some pipework and the Victaulic catalog only option was only pressfit and st. gobain only has 50, 100 & 150 dia
how do I get the rest of the catalogs?
or is it the case, I need to use AECOsim?
on the project i am on people are talking of abandoning using the application software altogether and solid modelling everything
i have heard on of the larger consultants on HS2 is also going that way because the content isn't there
particually true of pipework and electrical raceways
Hi David,Can you please check and confirm in the corresponding location in your dataset C:\Program data\Bentley\Configuration\Datasets\Dataset_NM\DataGroupCatalogs\Plumbing_Lib, whether you are having Vic Data Files.mdb, Vic Data Files_si.mdb and their corresponding xmls. Please share screenshots of the mdb file. Please let us know if you have tried opening the manufacturer catalog as shown in the image below.
Regards,
This is the (plumbing) path for OBD Connect C:\ProgramData\Bentley\OpenBuildings CONNECT Edition\Configuration\Datasets\Dataset_US\DataGroupCatalogs\Plumbing_Lib
For some reason the project is using the US dataset, however i have tried using the same tools with the UK dataset
the editor here is very poor so images barely readable
if you can read it you will see what i said in the first place is what i am getting from the software
i have opened the access files in the catalog lib folder and it looks like the information is there but the software is not picking it up

Hi David,I would like to know the process you adopted to upgrade to this current version, I would also suggest you to try a clean uninstallation of any CONNECT version that you had prior to this in your machine and re-install to get that option working at your end.Regards,
Arghyakamal
when I loaded OBD Connect for the first time, it was downloaded from the web and then loaded
the upgrades have version 5 would have been loaded over the old version
I have taken your suggestion and removed the programme, downloaded a fresh version 6, and run that as a new installation. the installation is taking ages because the pointools failed to download after 4 or 5 attempts, eventually it did continue the installation.
The installation DID NOT give an option for UK dataset. thus it looks like it was a waste of my time. And I was not able to choose UK dataset after the installation
looks like I will have to install the version 5 for a uk dataset
Hi David,
Regarding the UK dataset, are you saying it wasn't in the list using the installer's Configure option?

Steve
when installing OBD Connect i have to admit i missed the configure button.
installing the uk dataset did not solve the problem which started this trail
see earlier post from me
I have looked at the library access files and it looks like the pipe options are listed so I am left wondering if something needs to be adjusted in the configuration file.
can anyone help with that please
