AECOsim Building Designer SS6. Version - 08.11.09.829
Hi All,
The areas highlighted in the image below are black objects and texts printing (using AECOsim directory pdf.cfg) in grey color and i really cannot explain why?
Before you make any suggestions, i would like to make you aware of the following:
- This abnormalities is only experience in two only 2 of my AECOsim files. The rest files print okay so i assume its a file specific problem.
- but whenever i open these 2 files in Microstataion SS3 (08.11.09.578) and make a print (using Microstation directory pdf.cfg) , everything comes out well as expected.
- Since they print well in Microstation, each time i am attempting to print them in AECOsim, i borrow the pdf.cfg in Microstation directory instead and still no joy
- i don't use overrides
So guys, i am just a bit confused on how to troubleshoot this
I welcome all you suggestions
Thank you
H
Hi Steve,
Yes. they are all drawing models referenced into the sheet. Meanwhile, i have just come to realize that only all objects with these funny grey display are all live in their sheet models. The drawing model saved views are perfect.
So... the elements displayed as grey were placed directly in the Sheet model, with the remainder as reference attachments?
Just to narrow things down a bit more, is the title block/border referenced in or is that live within the sheet model as well? Just trying to get a better handle on how things are arranged. To that end, if you could upload that model here perhaps that would help - assuming that if you were to open it separately from everything else that the same behavior persists.
The titleblock is actually a reference. As i hinted previously, only the live objects seems to be affected during print. The section marker and the drawing title which i did not highlight are also live objects
Hi Henry,
OK, so the blocks of grey text within the title block are live in the sheet model, while the titleblock itself is referenced. Does it make any difference what color that text is, or if it's moved outside the extents of the titleblock? Reaching a bit here...
The text within the titleblock are tags (black) and they are referenced in together with the titleblock .Sorry Steve.....i forgot to mention this earlier. I will try to move the other objects outside the extent of the title block and see if they print properly.
Ah, so they're referenced tags? Just from your image in the OP they seem to make up most of those grey elements.
yes you are absolutely correct. Meanwhile, as you suggested, i have tried placing few objects outside the titleblock area and see the
results below:
Can you clarify what we're looking at/what is incorrect?
transparency seems to be applied to the objects highlighted in the image below hence they look faded and displaying in grey instead of black and i have not used the rasterized option while printing
Can you select one of those elements with the MicroStation Properties tool and check whether it does in fact have Transparency applied? Or, if it has a Display Style applied that has Transparency enabled? Basically anything that would override the expected results.
