AECOsim Building Designer SS6. Version - 08.11.09.829
Hi All,
The total height of the stair shown below is 5000mm from ground level to the topmost landing. It has a short straight run (roughly 1000mm height) with a landing and continues a half turn with three landings to the top.
Can anyone please send me a very quick video demonstration on how i can model all the flight of this steel stairs in one sweep or in parts. Please no handrails, columns, beams or braces....just the stair carcass is enough.
I would really much appreciate your help on this one
Thank you
H
Hi Henry,
Are they simply rectangular sections? If so, you should be able manually add the appropriate size: https://communities.bentley.com/products/building/building_analysis___design/w/building_analysis_and_design__wiki/27165/create-an-individual-concrete-beam-or-column
Ignore the concrete part.
Hi Steve,
what i eventually did was to use multiple "straight run stairs" between the landings. The landings have been modeled independently using the "Place Floor slab" and "Place Steel Beam" which illustrates both the landings and their various support.

for some reason i do not understand, the section name dialog does not pop up when input the new numbers and hit enter. At the moment, i have just used a default size to illustrate the bracing against my wish. Do you know what could be wrong?
It seems to be working OK here. As mentioned in the wiki make sure you're not entering any other characters other than the "x" between numbers. Also, did you select a Code (XML file) prior to entering the section name? That is where it should be written to.
