I'm trying to get the classification description in my IFC.
I've placed a file called IFC_mapping_overrides.set in my workset's settings-folder. In that file I've placed a few properties which I get to show up in my IFC, but the description doesn't work.
As seen, I work with BSAB, a Swedish system. If I check the definition editor under Objectclassification I can only see the BSAB property, not the description:
But in element properties I can see the property:
Not really sure how all that comes together in the IFC-export. Have I named the property wrong in the IFC_mapping_overrides.set-file? What should it be in that case?
Or is there something else needed, since the property don't show in the definition editor?
I would suggest you to please go through this wiki and see whether things are pointed to the right location. Please let us know whether this has been of help. Thanks & Regards!
Thanks. I followed your advice.
But the BSAB description can not be found in the list of properties. Even though I see it in the properties to my right.
I have to get this description exported in my delivery next week, hope you can help me solve this!
Hi Robert,You may try the normal scenario of exporting IFC and see whether the description is getting exported. Also specify which IFC MVD are you using? Is it 2x3 or IFC4 RV?, Please send us your dgn and the IFC_mapping_overrides.set-file to investigate at our end. You may also log a SR if you wish. Thanks & Regards!
No, the description is not getting exported in the normal scenario either.
I'm exporting 2x3 from ss6. I'm using the Swedish dataset and classification BSAB (which I think is standard for dataset_SE). The property is shown in AECOsim, I just need a way to show it in my IFC as well, but right now, I see none.
You can try with a file containing just one steel beam or something.
Hi Robert,We would recommend you to please select IFC 2X3 CV2.0 + QTO option(See image below) while exporting and this should solve your issue. Please revert with the files that I had asked for further investigation. Thanks & Regards!
