OBD customization

Hi,

I want to organize some OBD tools in a custom toolbox. I can select the native MicroStaton tools from the "application tools" but I can't find the Architectural or Structural tools
In what dgnlib are they stored? Ore how to select ribbon tools to put them into a toolbox.

regards Rik

  • Hello Rik,

Please find this Wiki on Adding a Custom Placement tool to Ribbon. I hope this will be useful to you.

  • Hi, Swati,

I want to place some tools in a toolbox, not the ribbon,
this wiki is about the ribbon

  • Hello Rik,

Was the toolbox originally created by making changes in the "Personal.OpenBuildingsDesigner.dgnlib" file  ? (C:\Users\User name\AppData\Local\Bentley\OpenBuildingsDesigner\10.0.0\prefs\Personal.OpenBuildingsDesigner.dgnlib)

In that case you can add the tool by opening that file and then Go to File > Settings > Configuration > Customize.

Follow the workflow shown in this video and let me know if this helps.

  • OK, I know how to create new tools,
but all tools are created yet I think? not?

is there a place (dgnlib) where the architecture tools are stored and where I can copy the tool to the custom toolbox,
just like I can copy the "application tools" from

just like in the good old days without ribbons.....

  • no one knows where the tools are stored?,
are they still in a dgnlib  (OBD),
or is this replaced by something else?

  • Hi Rik,

The building tools can be found in Panels:

Individual tools, or whole groups can be added to custom ribbons, custom groups can also be opened via key-ins (see delivered pop-up tools groups for examples) linked to shortcuts or custom tools created with Custom Tools and Tasks:
