Hi,
Is it safe to assume that with the new type structural members in OBD, the old vba structural spreadsheet no longer work? I tried to the 4 options and so far only "Schedules" works.
Best regards,
Tuan Le
Hi Tuan,
There are couple of known defects scheduled for subsequent OBD updates.
Structural Quantity Spreadsheet works for legacy structural elements [Legacy = Elements created in Update6 and before] only in update 7, and it will support for ProStructures elements.
Structural Spreadsheet has VBA issue and also know defect.

Thanks Sandeep. So in short, if I want to run a structural quantity report for U7 structural members, "Schedules" is the only option?
Tuan,
Schedule is definitely there, but create Reports also gives us more control on schedule properties selection.
Hi Sandeep, what reports are available for the structural members in U7? Did you mean the reports produced by the "Quantify" tool by any chance? As I can't get that working either.
No, I'm talking about MicroStation's utility 'Report' which uses Item types to extract the information of element and create table. See image below.
Right, so basically all the quantity data is coming off datagroup data. I see the issue with datagroup quantity for an extruded solid with attached instance data still haven't been fixed. Just wondering if that had been captured? For example, please see snapshot below for an example: the 2nd base plate was extruded, and only the volume and surface areas are reported correctly.
In Update 7 we have much better base plate tools driven by the underlying ProStructures technology. Plates can easily be attached to columns or beams or place as discrete objects. In this screenshot I have two base plates hosted by columns and one floating, at the top right is an extruded slab with base plate instance data attached, no empty rows are present in the MicroStation Report.
In the Catalog Schedule the two types, Base Plate and PlateSteel (the display name needs to be amended in the dataset I'm using) could be combined into a single list using a multi category schedule.

Marc
