I use the Batch Utility from within Navisworks, you can access this from a batch file to automate this process or from the dialog within Navisworks.

You need to check the Use Beta File Loader in Navisworks Manage 2020 from Options Editor > File Readers > DGN. I've recently started using Navisworks Manage 2021 and it doesn't seem necessary to check this option, need to more testing to confirm.

Parametric solids need to be converted to smart solids, other than that everything should come across fine.

I've also exported out the steelwork from OBD as IFC files on previous projects.

There use to be a NWD exporter plugin from Autodesk which worked in V8i, but this no longer works with CONNECT. I have asked Autodesk to make it available in CE, as yet nothing.

Save As DWG is a working feature in OBD, please could you tell us more about this.

There should not be any need to involve MicroStation.
