Hi,
I have one file containing many models and drawings (Dynamic Views). I need to save all models into separate files.
Does anyone know how to save every model into separate files ( split up multimodel file into separate files ) in one go?
Thank you very much in advance.
Mariusz
Hi Mariusz,
There is no dedicated tool for something like this, so the best option may be to A) Import your existing drawing model into a new drawing file, and B) Modify the link to the drawing as outlined in the first section of this wiki: https://communities.bentley.com/products/building/building_analysis___design/w/building_analysis_and_design__wiki/13538/modifying-drawing-view-links-to-reflect-drawing-and-or-sheet-name-changes Note that the links are now accessed via the Reference Link item in the top section of the Properties dialog. That's where you can select the new file you've created.
If you file a Service Request for this we can go into a bit more detail if you'd like.
Hi Steve,
Thank you for your answer.
Another solution I have used is to save the file as dwg so the program saved separately every model file but obviously all links in drawing file were lost. However I need to use it when I prepare 2d documentation for other engineers who doesn't use Open Building Designer so I merge all references. I use it very often on first stage of design when I create less files as it speed up design process.
It would be good to add such option while exporting dgn as it is with dwg export but is up to Bentley.
If it is worthy to rise official ticket on this mater to make an influence on future software's releases please let me know.
Thank you very much with Regards,
You're welcome. Yes, if the destination does not require the drawing navigation links then saving to DWG should suffice.
I would suggest filing a Service Request for this so that support can create an Enhancement request on your behalf (assuming one does not already exist).
