I made a fresh install of OB7, all defaults directories, DataSet_FR. High-end workstation, high-end graphic card, SSD drive, lot of Ram,...
I create a new empty drawing in BuildingTemplate_FR.
I press the Place Wall button. 3 seconds to open the property panel and let me choose a wall type. Then, right click to finish the command. 5 seconds to bring back the default command.
This lack of responsivness is a real pain. Not productive at all.
Can someone point me any workaround to speed up the UI ?
I suspect a heavy datagroup catalog or maybe Cells library or materials library. I really need maybe 10% of all these.
What is the best way to clean all this and have a very fast UI ?
regards,
Chris
Hello Chris, Sometimes when you are trying to open files from Server, due to network issues it can cause the slowness in the software. Also Please refer to this wiki to know how you can move/hide the datagroup content that you do not need.

Thank you Alifur,
but that's why i precised "All default directories"... It means i tried with all data on the local computer.
I am now in the process to clean the datagroup. I will keep the community up to date but i am curious to know
how people here are working ? Nobody but me suffer from this slow UI ??
In addition to the using the Catalog Item Manager to move Catalog Items to library files, you could also look at modifying the WorkSet configuration, things like list of level libraries and structural sections can be more selective.
Which dataset are you using?
Marc
I am using Dataset_FR (french).
I hide most of the walls, doors and windows but it is very tedious with other types because there are a lot of them.
And can i remove easily all catalogs except the architectural one ?
regards and thanks for your precious blog
