We want to create multiple building models in Open buildings which can then be exported as IDF to be converted to an FMU format. We want to use these FMUs to perform machine learning experiments. Is the simulation suite currently able to support any of this:1) Export the designed model to idf format?2) Created FMU models directly from the simulation suite by adding external-exchange FMU parameter in the idf file?thanks,Ujwal,Siemens
We are looking to purchase the Open buildings software are currently evaluating it to see if it meets our requirements. Help would be appreciated.

This was very helpful. Thank you. Also is there some package in the simulation that can assist in this type of co-simulation: bigladdersoftware.com/.../fmu-examples.html
Hi Ujwal,
At present there is no facility within OpenBuildings to create the idf file with the additional parameters needed.
However once you create the idf using other interfaces, you can import as shown in screenshot below, and assign to rooms in the project in HVAC manager. Please note that OpenBuildings uses EnergyPlus V8.0, so V8.0 idf files must be used.
The most suitable approach may be to take the idf file from your OpenBuildings project and then modify/run externally using EnergyPlus V8.00.

Is only version 8 of energy plus supported in the simulation or are there any options to utilise the latest version of E+ ?
Hi Ujwal, only version 8 is supported at this time.
