I have upgraded to OBD Update 7 and I see all kind of weird new issues...but this one is a strange one.
I make copies of models within the same file all the time...but now in update 7, the new model content is there but all its references from the source model are not? The attachments are dropped.
This is an annoying problem that I have never seen before and it only started after I started using Update 7?
Not seeing that happening here, just created a model, attached a couple of references, copied the model, all good.
Can you send us a sample of a file that is misbehaving?
are the models 2D or 3D?are the references to models within the same file or to external files?
My files are typically large 100+ MB so it makes it harder to provide a sample.
I have been doing some investigating and noticed one thing you can test.
Most of my referencing are internal, and when I make a copy of a "Drawing" model, I lose my references, when I make a copy of a "Design" model, the references are kept.
Can you test that on your end?

this is not a requirement, this is a workaround for this problem that seemed to work for me.
it seems to be enough when you have even non-displayed attachment with orientation coming from Saved Views.
All the others can be attached "normally"
to make all this easier I've made "top view" Saved View in design- & drawingseed files. So every file that will be created has this option when attached.

Andri, can you confirm that you have come across this issue also? I have not seen anyone else complain of this happening so I'm obviously wondering if I'm the only one experiencing this?
If so, has it only started since Update 7 was installed?
I just started with OBD update 7 (before I was working with AECOSIM series 6) & was checking my workflow, saw your post, tried out & had similar issue.
I haven't tried previous versions of OBD.
Please can you both try the same operation using one of the example WorkSets?#
I used the NM training template:
Copied a Drawing model with a number of nested attachments, no problem, there are no settings involved when copying a model, this is quite puzzling...
I tried this & no problems for me.
but I think this attachment generated is from model & so its orientation comes from Saved views.
so if yo detach this attachment (with orientation coming from Saved Views) from this model FLOOR OFFICE 01 - Copy-1 & attach normally some file
then after making copy of this model you will lose your attchment.
when you do the same with a model that has attachment (with orientation coming from Saved Views) you won't lose any attachments.
