Fit View - Clipped Reference

In process of exploring OpenBuildings Designer Connect Update 6, upgrading from AECOsim Building Designer Connect - Update 3.

I have a clipped reference that the Fit View (Active, Raster, Reference & All) does not honor the clipped extents of the reference,  it instead zooms to the extents of the referenced content as if it wasn't clipped. This was not the behavior in Update 3. What am I missing?

  • Hi Keith,

I just tried a simple test and it seemed to work OK.   Are using a fence or element to clip the reference?   And, is it unique to the file you were using or are you seeing the same behavior with any file?

  • Steve,
Thanks for checking into this and replying. I was beginning to wonder if anyone was out there ;-)

We have a model that contains a Bing Aerial image (WMS) that is both clipped (note the clipping element is deleted after clipping) and georeferenced. This model is referenced into another model and should zoom to the clipped view of the Bing reference however it is zooming to the entire world view. We have over 30k files in Update 3 where this approach works and every file of these we have opened in Update 6 ignores that clipped boundary.

I have added a couple short videos showing the behavior. The left one is Update 3 and the right one is the same exact file in Update 6.
