parametric cell bug

Hi,

I got an parametric object with a variable x. If I change the variable, it behaves as intended. But if i save the parametric object to an parametric cell, it doesen't. I can reproduce this behaviour on two windows 10 machienes, with the newest version of OpenBuildings Designer CONNECT Edition. Showed the problem in this Thread, but got no answer: communities.bentley.com/.../loosing-constraints-from-creating-parametric-cell-from-parametric-object

How can I report a bug?
Best regards Ole

  • Hi,

I had a talk to some Service Members.

The solution is to save the parametric cell in a different way.

    1. create a .dgn file

    2. model the object with variables

    3. in the window "variables": click on Variations and add a new Variation.

    4. Open the window "models": make the model to cell (click on "is cell" in the model row)

    5. long right click on blank drawing plane -> select "properties"

    6. in properties scroll down to cell: change from "graphic" to "parametric"

    7. save the file

    8. change the filetype in windows explorer to .cel

For use in catalogs save the .cell-File to standard cell path.

    Good luck

    Ole
