Hi
I have a problem with window views - the only views available are "Rotate" - dynamic, 2 point or unrotate. All the info I've found onlinerefers to a drop down menu on the "Rotate View" icon but this isn't there on my layout - any ideas ?
Cheers
Graham
Hi Graham,
You are in a 2D Model. 3D rotations are unavailable.

Hi Marc
I don't necessarily want to rotate I just want an isometric view - I know it's possible as I've just sat in on a webinar and seen it. I'm confused
Hi Shane
After almost through the pc out the window last night I started again and created a new project and this time it's worked - there must have been a problem with the creration of the new dgn file. That being said there are still a couple of issues as the defaults are not being retained when I've adjusted them to the course notes however I've worked around that.
My biggest problem at the moment is the ground floor is only 3.6m high as opposed to 4.5m but have copied the other floor at 4.5m so assume the ground floor walls can be extended ?
It may have been an incorrect seed file? designseed.dgn should always be used for a new model.
Which defaults and course are you referring to?
Wall height can be changed either graphically or via the Schedule. Select all your walls in the list, then right-click for editing options.
Have you looked at the LEARNserver material?
The course is BIM QuickStart for Energy Simulators Live Bundle for OpenBuildings Designer.
Changing the wall heights seems to be a bit of a problem, I've tried the old Hevacomp way but the values don't seem to want to change. This is the first time I've used the software so there may be a degree of user error.
The Energy Simulator room/wall height setting is a little different to Hevacomp as it cannot be changed after entering the room. It has however been logged for development so that this be function be incorporated.

ok thanks Shane. Apart from the issue with setting up the initial file really enjoying openbuildings - good upgrade.
Hi Graham, many thanks for the positive feedback, that's great to hear. If you have any other questions just let us know.
