I have created a 2d plan at beam TOS level as shown
you can see below the main cut line is at TOS (green marker), and the front and back clip planes are shown with blue markers
How do you revise the plan view to show the handrail (in yellow), I've extended the top clip view line above the handrail in the elevation, but doesnt update the above plan to show the handrail midrail line

I think (can't quite make it out on the screen grab) that your cut plane is too low, try dragging the green arrow glyph higher to raise the cut plane?

I figured out the problem, I didn't have the back clipping plane turned on in the 2d drawing, thanks for your reply
