OBD u7 light

Hi,

OBD u7 takes to long to load, change drawings, ..... at least +30% longer (u6) waiting for each opening
and much much longer then V8i....
I want to create a minimum architectural dataset to speed up a bit.
unload all un-necessary features and tools...

make OBD usable again...

where to find what is basic, what are features, how to exclude them from loading
what do we need in the dataset and what depends to what feature

so we can create a workable workspace including just the minimum and the desired tools we use.

  • Hi Rik,

In the Catalog Editor you can use Catalog Item Manager to move unwanted content to library folders:

Covered by help topic: Home > OpenBuildings Designer > DataGroup System > DataGroup Data Tools and Utilities > Catalog Editor > Catalog Item Manager

I suggest using this tool on a copy of the dataset so you can test any changes before committing to your production dataset.

This will reduce the loaded content.

If you are using the ProStructures driven structural tools it is worth checking how many section databases are in use, I loaded up a wide selection recently and found that had a performance hit.
