OBD
A file have a lot of hours in, has decided to crash during operation, and now on opening, with the error Exception 0xc0000005.
I've tried a few things, like referencing into a new file and merging, but even that doesn't work, and I think I will lose all DVs sheets etc if I do that so its not ideal anyway.
It has several reference files attached, I've opened them all individually and they are fine, its just this one file that has problems.
I've just updated windows & OBD, no effect.
I use OneDrive, and I think this has caused similar issues in the past, but I have a colleague open the file and re save it and its fine again, but not this time.
Is there no recovery or repair function in OBD?
If anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated.
Hi Bruce,
Try copying an OBD shortcut and editing it to add the -O switch:
This starts OBD in a mode where files are opened without references, attachment data remains intact, so DVs etc are not changed. The file might open in that mode.
If you would like to send us a copy of the file we can take a look.
As you are using OneDrive has it stored any recent working versions of your file?
While we have had reports of issues with OneDrive, this is not a scenario that we formally test, we are however working on a solution for that sector.

oh look
So after installing a new graphics card on a separate machine, the file will behave just the same, crash on changing saved views.
Also opening with straight microstation seems to run a little better but still crash on applying saved views.
