Hi All,
I am working with a sub-contractor that has Revit and i have supplied him with some IFC files exported from Aecosim to coordinate our design, When they import them they are not spatially aligned and i want to know if there is a simple fix for this.
When i import there IFC files they do align but not the other way
Hi Paul,
A few questions:
- Which version are you using?
- Which version of IFC are you exporting?
- When you say that the files align when imported back in, do you mean opened/referenced or actually imported?
Hi Steve,
I have used Aecosim BD V8i SS6 to create the IFC
The IFC Export version is IFC2x3 CV2.0
When i reference in the IFC files from the sub contractor they seem to drop in at the right place, i can tell this as there is a reference cube in the files with xyz coordinates and they match up.
The problem seems to be my exported IFC files not aligning in Revit which is what the sub contractors are using.
thanks
Sorry for the delayed response. Just to help narrow things down a bit more, if you open the IFC file in a third-party viewer such as FZK Viewer, BIM Vision, Solibri, etc., do the results match what you see when viewed in AECOsim? I'm not familiar with how Revit handles the import of IFC files so can't suggest any settings there.
Are you using a Geographic Coordinate System and associated techniques in AECOsim to locate your model?
