Whenever I copy say 5000+ elements I often have issues.
1. As soon as I click "the first point" OBD freezes for a few seconds.
2. If I move my cursor during the freeze period then random elements I selected are omitted from being copied
3. Also during the freeze period, if I move my cursor, I get a copy on top of my original copy (this is not always detected until later when it is too late to undo - very frustrating).
I should point out that in note 2 & 3 I have not clicked my mouse buttons, merely moved my cursor.
4. Moving the selected elements to the copy point is very stuttery - eg in SS6 I could easily copy up to 100,000 elements before having similar issues, but now with OBD I am limited to less than 10,000.
5. If I select elements (less than 50) and use CTRL-C, then switch between models and use CTRL-V - OBD will very often shutdown without warning or error notification.

You may find the fence tool works more smoothly in some cases, however as said, we ned to investigate further.
It would be helpful to understand the situation that you are working in, what are the thousands of elements representing?
