Open Buildings Designer Update 8
I have recently been experiencing a problem with a few seconds delay when adding or deleting elements.
I have no idea if this is hardware or software related but I have not changed my hardware and the only software changes have been updates to OS, programs or drivers.
I know that this is really vague but was wondering if there was a setting somewhere or something that someone could suggest I look at to overcome a very frustrating and counterproductive issue.
Any suggestions would be most welcome.
Many thanks
Hello Rondey, We had a similar issue like this for OpenBuildings Designer Update 6 where deleting huge number of elements will take a much longer time but it has been addressed in update 7. Let's say if we try to delete 20-30 walls at a time then OBD will do the delete operation right away no time taken. Can you please tell us what are the element type that you are trying to delete and its taking the time?
Regards,Alifur
we have the same problem.Whether it is delete, copy or move. Steel profiles, walls, doors, windows, etc..here is always a delay of up to 30sec. depending on the number of elements.
OBD udt 8
Hi Alifur
Thanks for your response
it is true for every element added or deleted, single or multiple
Even adding or revising text
Very strange and frustrating and very counter productive
Please can you both send us example files to take a look at? It would be helpful to development to understand your cases.
Marc
Hi Marc,
Thanks for your response and apologies for my not replying earlier.
I decided to uninstall and reinstall OBD which seems to have solved the problem whatever it may have been.
However, I now find that AccuSnap and associated tentative snap do not locate any Forms elements!
If I hover over the elements they are highlighted but AccuSnap will not identify them. It works just fine with solids and surfaces just not forms.
I have searched as many settings as I can identify to avail.
Never had this happen before.
Can you perhaps throw some light on this?
I would much appreciate it.
Best regards
