Hi,
I am Unable to Copy, Delete or Modify Element (line). The line is generated from OpenRail if i remember correctly.
Currently in the screenshot, i referenced the file that contains the line, but i am unable to copy the line from the referenced model.
How to solve this?
Hello Kang,
If any element is in reference then there is few ways to do the move/copy/modify1. Long Right click on the element and there you will find an option call Activate which will active the reference file inside the master dgn2. On that same long right click, you will find an option called Move reference , copy reference.
I hope this helps with your query. See the attached image. Regards,Alifur
Hi, thanks for your response. However this does not work in my case.
The line are generated from Open Rail with 3D Linear Element type instead of simple line, curve, arc or complex chain.
I cannot modify or copy these lines in either native file or referenced file (open a new file and reference native file in and try to copy).
I am still looking for a way to either allow me to either copy these lines, or convert the line to modifiable element type like line.
Then one thing to notice would be if you open up the native file in OBD, the select the line and go to Properties, there in the extended tab you will find an option called Locked, check if it has been set as Locked.
Regards,Alifur
Try copying the elements from the reference into your active file then use the Drop Element tool with 'Application Elements' ticked, this may drop the 3D Linear Element to basic geometry, if that does not work the Complex or Line Strings/Shapes options might work.

Marc
I found that i can "copy" it into a new file by merging into master.
