I used the Structural Rules to create some labels for structural elements in footprint and top/side view, showing the labels 'Section Name' and 'Custom Label' (showing the ID Number). This work fine.
Now I want something simular for the elements in my custom added Catalog Type '22-S-binnenwanden, primair', which is linked with the 'Place Wall' tool. From these elements I want to show the ID Number and the wall width.
However the Architectural Rule menu doesn't seem to allow me to do this. I can select:
But in the 'Annotation' tab, I don't find a way to add these fields (ID Number / Wall Width) I want.
The dropdown menu under 'Cell' is empty too. I assume this comes from the Annotation Tool Settings, but in that one, the custom made Catalog Types don't show either (even 'Walls', which is a standard Catalog Type doesn't show there).
Any help on how to create a simple rule to show these labels to an architectural element?
Hello Stefan, To use a rule for architecture elements we need to first create an annotation cell and then only from the drop down we would be able to get the options of wall annotations. I have attached a video demonstrating the workflow which we need to follow. I hope this helps you. Regards,Alifur
Thanks Alifur, this makes things much clearer. I still got 2 problems:
1. The walls don't seem to show in my Annotation Tool Settings. In which file are these stored?
2. I have some custom made DataGroup Catalog Types, linked with some tools like Place Wall, Place Slab... I can see those in my Manage DG Annotation Cells dialog (and select them), but they don't show in the Annotation Tool Settings either. I can create a cell that uses this DG Type's information, but I don't seem to find a way to make them appear in the Annotation Tool Settings.

Stefan,
You need to create DG Annotations cells first for the catalog type [ Eg. Wall, CurtainWalls etc], and then you will see those settings reflected in Annotation Tool Setting dialog.

Thanks for the reply, this has taken my a step in the right direction, I can see them now.
Still have one last step that won't work:
Some sceenshots to see what I did:
Creation of the cell in the Annotation_DG.cel library:
Cell linked in the Annotation Tool Settings:
Creating the drawing rule:
Drawing rule activated in the Presentation dialog:
View of the 3D model, in which the walls are drawn and the Saved View defined:
UPDATE:
Restarting the program (or at least exiting ctrl +W and re-opening the drawing and also reloading all Dataset settings I assume) has done the trick, and the labels seem to show now.
Side questions:
1. Is it possible the Auto Annotations option (Drawing Production > Place Annotation) has something to do with it? I was playing with that option before restarting, and I notice it is higlighted now (so active)?
2. what does the order of the rules in the Presentation dialog influence? I assume as long as they don't work on the same DataGroup Type, there is no difference in being 1st or last on the list?
