Can you give priority to cached references in one or other way?

Hi,

I was wondering how other people were handling the lack of ability to give a priority level to a reference of a clipping from a 3d. I know that you can adjust the update sequence, but sometimes I want to draw things above and below a reference. e.g. when I am drawing tile plans it would be useful if I could draw the tiles beneath the doors and such, but put annotation above everything else. Or am I the only one who has this problem?

Kind regards,

Jeroen

  • Hello

I’m assuming that you reference the Saved View from the 3D Model in to a 2D file. Then also reference in the 2D file (containing the areas and annotations/room names) in to the same 2D file.

Now that everything is in a 2D file, …. element and Level ‘priority’ settings should work (-1000 through to zero, then up to +1000)

At least it used to from what I recall (it’s been a while since I had to do that)

  • Hi Danny,

If I get what you are saying, I understand that if you put the 2d workspace in another 2d workspace to gain the priorities and such. This corresponds with what Stefan said. However, it would be easier if we could just put it directly in the first 2d workspace, which as far as we see is not possible. There already tends to be a 'reference creep', where references and nested references keep getting unchecked. Any additional references we can prevent being added is some time gained.

    But thanks for the suggestion.
