Hi Bentley Community,I recently saved new catalog items and I plan to edit them. However, when I check the Catalog Editor, the Catalog Items seem to be missing. I tried the DataGroup System Validator but didn't notice any errors. How can I fix this problem? Thanks.
Hello Samuel,
Can you please go to this location " C:\ProgramData\Bentley\OpenBuildings CONNECT Edition\Configuration\Datasets\Dataset_NM\DataGroupCatalogs " whether there are any xml files present in there or not? In general we have the xml files in that location from where the catalogs are getting read. Please have a look at the below image.
Regards,Alifur
Hi Alifur,The location you specified, xml files were present in my local device. See the image below.
I was able to use catalog items to create my model. That means the xml files work. However, the catalog items including the ones I modified are missing in the Catalog Editor. This is baffling.
I think its best if you can raise an SR and one of our Technical support engineer will have a meeting with you to investigate the query and provide a solution.
Hi Samuel,
Thanks for raising this issue over the SR 7001306695 and it's good to know that your issue is resolved and surprisingly now the Catalog items appeared in the Catalog Editor dialog box. It now shows all the modified ones also.

Care to share the resolution Shivam?
Hi Bear,
On the SR, the user has mentioned that it was suddenly fixed at the user end (i.e., the Catalog items appeared in the Catalog Editor dialog box. It now shows all catalog Items as well as the ones that they modified. Samuel mentioned that he is not sure how this happened but it appears it is now fixed), and we haven't did much on this SR part.
Regards,
Shivam Soni
No worries, thanks for the update.
We now have this issue. I created catalog items yesterday, Another user opened the catalog after and edited, added variations of these items. This morning, that user cannot see the items in catalog editor, although I can. He can see the items in the tools, and also place the items in the model, but cannot see them in the catalog editor.... Baffling.
All paths are correct
Duncan, could you resolve your issue? I have the same problem, also while it works for other users on the same network shared configuration.
Also for me the problem exists both for the content in DataGroupCatalogs and DataGroupSystem. Nothing I add there is displayed in the Catalog or Definition Editor.
Using one of the worksets in Example Configuration, my xsd- and xml files work as expected, so these should not be the issue.
