adjust color drawing view

Hi,

I want to use a drawing planview as an underlay to draw some extra's who need attention.

So I want to print the complete reference in a grey color, so new added elements are more visible.
presentation of DV is set to "synchronize view: All settings

What is the best way to have this done?
If I try to adjust colors in the reference properties settings, the display is changed the way I want,
but the colors in the printed (pdf) file are not adjusted
sure, the check mark is checked near "print Adjusted Colors"
what else can be blocking the adjustment for colors

  • what about drawing rules? You can set (if it's a ) Reference to a grey Color.

  • I hive this a try,

but NO, the DV does not rendered grey

     1007.test.dgn

this is a simple file, (elements between the walls are simple shapes)

attached the same file :  this renders grey

attached the drawing view : this is not affected

I have set the view to "grey" (new display style)
in this display style there is a display rule to render references to presentation grey

so the simple reference is rendered correct,
the drawing view is not affected even this is reference

if I change presentation in the drawing view itself, the view can be rendered in grey

so it is necessary to make a separated file to be used as the underlay where all styles are set.
in a dgnlib, the display styles for grey must be set ( front / back / cut ) & reference grey (display rule)
the DV presentation setting: synchronize View must be set to Volume only, so the "clip Volume" settings for forward / back can be changed,

a lot of styles and rules and sub files must be created to do a simple grey out for an underlay

anyone having a more simple way to do this?

    regards Rik
