We tried changing the default family and part for the placement of pipes and pipe fittings, but it doesn't seem to be working. We have OpenBuildings U8 10.08.00.44 and Dataset GB. The default FP for this is M-Mechanical::M_BSU_ColdWater. We changed BMECH_FAMILY_PLUMBING_DEFAULT variable at the Worksert level, to a custom FP, but it didn't change OBD's behaviour. When placing pipes, the default FP is still BSUK_ColdWater...
Is anyone else also seeing this behaviour?
The Default Part & Family is specified in dataset.cfg file for the dataset UK. So if you want to change the default part & family so i would suggest to make the changes in the cfg file and it will reflect while pacing the pipes. I hope this helps you. Regards,Alifur
Commented that line so it would read from the workset config and nothing. Uncommented the line, replaced the FP with the one we wanted a still nothing. Inside OB, in the configuration menu, the variable is pointing to the desired FP. I'm positive the FP exists. Regardless, when we try to model the pipe, it doesn't pull the correct FP. The first time it uses ColdWater, and after that, it uses whatever FP we selected last.
Very strange. I have used that variable in workset.cfg and commented it from dataset.cfg. But when i try to place the pipe, it picks up th eone that i have specified in the workset.cfg. Can you please check whether it has been written correctly with '::' or not.See the below video for reference.
