Why can't I create "spaces" or "areas" in Openbuilding with the "Bentley Facilities Space Planner" product?

Dear ,

I see on your blog that you comment on "To create an area in the planner". (Attached image capture)
So when I follow your prompts and click the "Create Space" item, the software notifies me with the following message: "This functionality is only available for Bentley Facilities Planner documents."

What does this refer to?

Thanks in advance.

  • Hello Jean,

I assume you are testing Bentley Facilities on existing OBD model. It is recomended to create a new 3D dng model and then reference any other required model. Then using Smartline or Create Region>Flood, create shapes for spaces and then create required areas conected with database.

This way you will be able to work with models seprately and always ajust all required changes comming from original model.

You can create new dgn model using 3d seed file located in Microstation seed directory:
    C:\ProgramData\Bentley\MicroStation CONNECT Edition\Configuration\WorkSpaces\Example\WorkSets\MetroStation\Standards\Seed
Or there should be seed directory in each OBD workset.

Make sure you are assigning this new projectwise file with Bentley Facilities application.
