We received dozen of drawings from the contractor, they were created in AECOsim V8i. When I open them in ODB UP8 or Microstation UP15 some elements of the drawing are missing, see highlighted section on the last screenshot. All levels and view attributes settings are the same in both programs. This is only one example but I experience this problem ever since I upgraded to Connect Edition over two years ago. I still keep v8i on my machine only because of this.
Personally it's not a big issue for me since I have both applications installed but my client is using Bentley View to review CAD files and always complain that CAD doesn't match PDF. Is there anything to make Connect Edition programs more compatible with old drawings?
Unfortunately I am not able to share DGN files as this drawing is made of several models, each 10-20mb big.
Below is screenshot from AECOsim v8i
This one is from OBD UP8
Hello Rafal,
Can you please share the files in the sharefile link. We need to check the files to distinguish the issue. Also are you using PW environment to open te files?
Regards,Alifur
Thank you for quick response. They are being uploaded now. I open these files from local drive.
Thank you for sending the files. I have opened the drawing file in both v8i & CE. I am seeing the same result for the both the cases.
When you are opening the file in V8i, can you please check the level of the elements that you are not getting to see in CE and check whether they are available or not and also check whether they are available or not.
I forgot to mention that I use V8i SS6 if that makes any difference and this drawing is displayed correctly on two different machines with V8i SS6 installed. I am surprised your V8i does not show these elements.
These levels are controlled by saved view but when I hover the mouse over the "missing" level the tooltip says "Level is OFF in active view".
edit: Sorry, I checked wrong layer. This horizontal beam is on layer S-G26-M_BracingSteel, which is ON in active view.

Interesting, i also am using V8i SS6. after opening the file using building template GB & reopening few of the reference files i am now able to see the beam. I have started investing the issue. Will update you as soon as possible.
