I have created a triangle with some parametric constraints. I have also created some Variables to calculate the angle (X). When (C) is at a higher point to (A-B), (X) will be a positive value. I have no issues adjusting for triangle ABC by inputting Lengths. When you specify a height below (A-B) at (D), I am able to calculate (X) which is a negative angle. My Question though is how to get the triangle to show triangle ABD, as the moment (X) is negative it doesn't update the geometry to reflect. All it shows is the last configuration set for triangle ABC. In other word, (A-C) becomes (A-D) and (B-C) becomes (B-D).
Thank you for raising an SR. We are looking into it and further communication will be done through this SR.

Hi William, We have investigated your issue. Ideally, negative values are not accepted in constraints. In the file, we have found that the 'Vertical Angle' of the triangle does not add from the existing variables, but it was added on the fly. Also, local variables created are not constrained by the geometry to reflect. Further investigation and discussions are required in this case. So, in such a case we will request you to create a service request regarding this issue and share the SR no with us. Also can you please tell us which version of OpenBuildings Designer you are using? Regards, Shreya
Yes, I have got the file. Thank you!!
Just sent file have you received ?
