I have been sent revit files for a project. I am using Connect OBD software and thought it would be a simple thing to open these in new Connect software. Just get message saying unrecognised file format. So can yous till not import a .rvt file? Do you have to go back to the source for an imodel? Seems bizarre with up to date Bentley software.
Keith
your question might be better suited for the Building software community and not the MicroStation community since Revit is a specialized building software.
You may need to get the i-model plugin for Revit.

What filetype have you been given?
Hello Keith,
If it's a Revit project 'RVT' then this will be helpful: https://youtu.be/yVf5O7ZEKhk
At first I didn't realize that it's available for all Select users, but it is! On connect.bentley.com you can create your own project and then upload the RVT file to it's "Share" folder. Then create iModel and link that iModel into OBD. It's a long workflow but it does work! You won't be able to edit the file though, only use it as a reference.
If you are speaking of Revit Families 'RFA' then there are multiple possibilities for direct import into OBD.

Thanks, we have taken a project over from another architect and am not wanting to push my luck asking them for an imodel which we have received before from other consultants.
Thank you for taking the time to reply.
Just a .rvt file, someone has just sent a youtube link for a bentley process so am going to give that a go.
Thanks for taking the time out to reply
