Hello, I'm having an issue when using an exported model from 12D and inserting into OpenBuildings. Pictures are for reference. The model/scan does not come in as a solid as seen on the snapshot with the black background. Is there anyway to have it come in as intended?
Hello Jordan,
Can I know from where you have exported the file ? And also what about the way of exporting and importing in OpenBuildings Designer ?Please let me know these information. Thanks & Regards, Arindam Roy
The file was exported to a DGN by a civil designer using a program called 12D. When importing into open buildings as a DGN that is the outcome. Other files types (FBX, DWG, etc) have all had the same result when inserted as a reference
I know this is an old thread, but I was curious whether the issue still persists (I've never heard of 12D before). If so, I would check with the 12D user whether there are any options for how its 3D elements are exported to other formats. Using our DWG Export dialog as example, there are three options for Solids and Surfaces:
In your original screen captures it looks as though the original 3D elements (solids? surfaces? meshes?) were flattened during export, but also facetted along the way.
