We have our own color table and color code. Whenever I have to export a file to a dwg to send to another firm, the colors remain as close as possible to match that acad palette. When I import a file from dwg format, the colors are messed up. So I wonder why this just goes one way and not back.
Is there a way for the acad palette to get the acad dwg colors to match the colors of our table or do we have to adapt the acad table to not have this issue?
Hi Jason,
Thanks for raising this, I would like to ask a question in regards to the workflow.
I followed the way you described in the question, by attaching the acad palette and exporting the file in a dwg format, and then importing the same. It didn't change anything at my end. I believe this might be an issue with the file could you please put a service ticket here so that we can grab your file from there and test the same at our end?

Krishnendu
I did not attach the dwg palette (color table). When I export a file with our color table to DWG the colors are matched relatively ok to colors on the DWG default palette. When I import a file from the DWG format the colors are very different. For example, on our color table, color #7 is purple. If we import an autocad dwg file, the palette is changed to that of the DWG format. If we change it to our own, the white color that corresponds to color #7 in dwg format translates to our #7 purple. How can I get the imported files to be adjusted to our own palette the way that happens in reverse - i.e. from dgn to dwg as the colors are matched.
