Hello everyone. Why do IFC curtain walls always appear opaque and the same color for all elements. I'm using openBuildings update 9. How can I configure material mapping to make it work? Besides, why isn't it already preconfigured?
Can you please tell me which method of 'Model View Definition' you have chosen from this list while exporting the IFC?Regards,Shreya
I think this relates closely to my recent questions about IFC export. I also did notice that the different "IFC4" exports result in different graphics. It would be nice to have a manual or wiki page that explains how it works. Even better would be to manipulate this to match the expectations of the user.
From what I can gather it looks like in some settings all elements are just exported as "opaque" with their level/element colour. In other export settings it is different:
Above screenshot shows the exact same model with 3 different IFC export settings, just to illustrate this behaviour.
The result is the same with both IFC4 and IFC2x3.
Can you please raise a service ticket regarding this issue? Here is a link from where you will get some idea about how to create it,
Well. From what I've seen, now, in the "Intriduction to OpenBuildings Designer Update 9" video on the Bentley OpenBuildings Youtube channel showing an IFC, the curtain wall rendering is just that. Now just wait for the evolution.
