Hi everyoneI installed OpenBuildings Designer via my office's installation system and so on and found out that I have no "export to IFC" button under Exchange File Types.
While my colleague who has open buildings designer (that is installed from same source) has the IFC option as the first option (before pdf)
Not only that, my icon is also greyed out. Anyone knows why? It seems like the installation is not done, but according to the software center at my office I'm "DONE" with installation
Hi Alifur! Thank you so much. I couldn't believe I was so stupid :) Thanks
Hello Eva,
No worries :). Happy to help.
Regards,Alifur
The OpenBuildings Designer that you have opened is OpenBuildings in MS mode. That means it will act as plain MS. The MS mode has Grey Icon, where as the OBD has Blue Icon.
Can you try to search for OpenBuildings Designer Connect Edition not the OpenBuildings Microstation CE.
In the windows search try to type in the whole name or on the same dialog of OpenBuildings Microstation CE, click on the dropdown under open and select Open File location. It will open the Shortcuts folder (C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\OpenBuildings Designer CONNECT Edition\OpenBuildings Designer CONNECT Edition), from there you can see the OpenBuildings Designer also.
Once you open up the proper OBD, you will be able to see the Export to IFC option under the same PDF dialog.
I hope this helps you.
