Since upgrading to U9.1 we are experiencing issues with OBD Microstation Mode not loading properly and crashing when in use. .
It appears that there has been a change to the engine name within OBD MSMode so that it now reads as OpenBuildings, rather than Microstation Mode which it did previously. This then means that it is reading Full OBD prefs when loading, and as a result loading OBD toolsets such as floor manager and datasets, albeit not entirely correctly and as a result is crashing, alot, and technically not usable.
Hi Duncan,Can you please tell me the workflow you are performing while facing a crash in OBD Microstation? And can you please tell me what error message appears while crashing?Regards,Shreya
Hi, this is nothing to do with workflow, but a change to how the prefs are named.
In previous versions, _enginename was defined as MicrostationMode when opening OBD MS.
in U9.1 however, the _enginename has reverted to OpenBuildings. When opening OBD MS locally the below is hardcoded on startup, however, when using our network configuration (which has not changed for a long time) the config variable _USTN_PREFNAMEBASE = $(_USTN_HOMEPREFS)$(_USTN_USERNAME).$(_ENGINENAME) now is defining OBD MS as OpenBuildings.
Hi Duncan,We are looking into this. Will get back to you.Regards,Shreya
Hello,
I have solved this issue. It was to do with % locking the _USTN_PREFNAMEBASE variable. The lock was preventing OBD from changing the engine name to MicrostationMode
