3D cable tray/trunking creation is abnormally slow and not created correctly when the cable tray/trunking is less than nominal 2m for OpenBuildings version 10.09.00.83.
I recall no similar issue with prior version.
As interim solution for affected cable tray/trunking less than nominal 2m, I turn off 3D visualization, keep the 2D symbol and draw a solid block to represent the tray/trunking.
Example below is creation of 750mm cable trunking with 2D symbol placed correctly but 3D is offset extreme far away from the 2D with length 20mm. Any idea what happens?
Hello Jack,
If you are creating your cable trays outside of the Solid Working Area, then this kind of issue. Can you please tell us whether you are working outside of SWA or not.

Thanks. Indeed cable trays are outside SWA. No issue when model is located within SWA.
Thank you for the response. I would suggest instead of modeling outside of SWA try to get them done inside SWA and then do a reprojection, that way it will be at the site location while doing the final review.
Yes I am doing reprojection by changing model global origin (GO=0,0,0) at SWA center using key-in command "GO=x,y,z" to actual coordinates for site location with the model referencing based on Coincident - World to site location. Thanks for quick help.
Indeed that would be the perfect workflow. Always happy to help.
