I always have a need for sliding patio doors which do not appear in the delivered dataset (Dataset_US). As a workaround, I have used a sliding window and size it to be 6ft x 80"h for example. The substitution works for the graphics on the plan but does not work if I want to label it using Door Rules and have it part of a door schedule.
I have had the same issue when wanting to put in a triple window. There are delivered double windows but not triple windows. I can make it look ok by placing 3 single windows side-by-side, but then the labeling using the Window Rules or window Scheduling does not work.
There are still no Pocket Doors.
Am I the only one missing these doors and windows. Do I have to create them?
Thanks,
Gary

Hi Gary,
Can you please let us know which version of OpenBuildings Designer you are using?
Also, if you want to create custom annotation for doors and windows then please follow the steps as outlined in this wiki below.

Thanks for your response.
We placed some doors and windows in our delivered US dataset and after creating a plan & applying the architectural rule for door and window we can see the labelling in the drawing model.
So, please make sure to draw the line while creating a plan in between the elements (in this case doors and windows were used). After moving to the drawing model please turn on the "Automatic Annotation". Then apply the door and window rule and refresh the view from References dialog box. Finally, you can see the labelling in both windows and doors. Please refer to the below screengrabs for your reference.
HTH!

Hi Sayan,
Thanks for the reply but the issue is not with trying to label doors and windows with rules.
The issue is that the US dataset does not have sliding door such as patio doors, or pocket doors, and there are no triple windows.
We will have some discussion with our internal team regarding this and will update you.
